Welcome to the Damarkann kennels, owned and supervised by Anne
Asquith for over 25 years. Anne not only breeds Great Danes but also judges them
at championship level. The kennels are situated on the outskirts of Driffield,
capital of the Yorkshire Wolds and is only a few miles inland from the east
coast of England which boasts some of the best sandy beaches and beautiful
rugged cliffs anywhere in the UK.

At home with Ch. Damarkann Manhattan Magic

For a quarter of a century our aim has been to breed as true to the breed standard as possible. Although we breed for type, temperament is of paramount importance to us. We have selectively bred for this through many generations and have achieved very balanced individuals, both outward going and friendly whilst remaining loyal and faithful to their family. Since 1984 we have specialised in harlequins and believe that a Harlequin should have truly wonderful markings, only the purest snow white background, embellished with bold torn black patches will do. At Damarkann we never underestimate the importance of correct movement, nothing is more breathtaking than a magnificent Dane covering the ground with ease and extravagance, harlequins seem to have cornered the market in this department. Of course this is only achievable if the construction is correct.
Our bloodlines owe a great deal to the German Imperial kennels and also the American Manatasquots kennel, the former gave us substance and type whilst the latter gave us a touch of elegance.

The
kennels

The port of Hull is situated only 43km from Little Driffield,
the home of Damarkann Great Danes.
The North Sea Ferries sail from Rotterdam to Hull on a daily
basis, sailing every evening and arriving the following morning. There is
excellent entertainment on board and all cabins are ensuite. Check out their
website on http://www.poferries.com for more details.
It is the preferred route for people buying a puppy to take
home to Holland and also for bitches coming to the UK to use our stud dogs.
The ferries have their own air-conditioned kennels on board
in the quietest part of the ship and totally separated from the public and
vehicles, also they are regularly checked and supervised.
If however your Dane is too large to be comfortable in the
kennels they will be able to remain in your own vehicle if it is suitable.
If you are travelling as a foot passenger I shall be happy
to arrange for you to be met at the port of Hull.
This is our preferred route when travelling to shows in
Holland, Belgium or Germany with our Danes. Bon voyage.
